What’s the game about?

 

In every round of Imposter (also called Bluffer in Flizz), one or two players are secretly assigned the role of Imposters, while the rest are Honest players. Everyone sees a word, except the Imposter(s), who only get a vague hint word.

 

Your goal?

 

• If you’re honest: Say vague clues to show your teammates that you're honest without revealing too much to the Imposter.

• If you’re the Imposter: Blend in, collect clues, and try to guess the real word, then fake your way to victory!

 

How Many Can Play?

 

• 3–6 players: 1 Imposter

• 7+ players: 2 Imposters

 

How to Play (Step-by-Step)

 

1. Enter your name and tap to secretly reveal your word/hint and role: Honest or Imposter.

2. Word assignment

   Honest players get the same secret word. The Imposter(s) get only a hint.

3. Round begins - Say one word each

   Each player says a word related to the secret word — vague enough to confuse the Imposter, but not so vague that teammates can’t spot you.
   Example: Secret word is Cheese, you could say Holes, Bread and Blue (Blue cheese). Saying Mouse and Food might give the imposter too much. 

4. Discussion time

   After the rounds of one-word clues, the group has 1 minute to discuss who they think the Imposter is.

5. Vote

   Everyone votes in-app. If the group correctly votes out the Imposter(s), the Honest team gets a point. If the Imposter survives, they win the round and score or continue for another round if there are 6+ players.
   If there is a tie, all players vote between the ones that had a tie. 

6. Keep score or play casually

   Play up to a set number of points, or just enjoy a few hilarious rounds.

• The word is: Car

• The Imposter gets: Hint = Rubber

 

Round 1

P1: “Glass”

P2: “Distance”

P3 (Imposter): “Rubber”

P4: “Fast”

 

Round 2

P1: “Roof”

P2: “Music”

P3: “Elevator”

P4: “Wipers”

 

Now the group suspects P3 — “Elevator” makes no sense for a car. If P3 had said “Tires,” the Honest players might’ve been fooled.

 

Tips for Winning

 

• When you’re honest, don’t be too obvious. You want to help your team without making the word easy to guess.

• When you’re the Imposter, mimic your past behavior — don’t act differently or speak way more or less than before.

• Play 1–2 test rounds to get the hang of it — you’ll be hooked in minutes!
